The beginning of any journey or process is the most creative. A child can not jump to “Z” without starting from “A”. Success is not an event rather a complete process, comprising different stages. To end any wonderful journey you must first start.

A few months ago one of my friends suggested me to apply for the fellowship program at Amal Academy. He told me the perks of this fruitful journey that aroused my curiosity to learn something new. He was graduating in February and I started my journey at Amal Academy in April 2021. I passed all five hurdles and became a member of an amazing family.
When I recall the start of the journey at Amal Academy I feel atrocious. Although, I was excited to start this journey to learn and grow. But, I was in the university for the physical exams of my 5th semester. So, now you can imagine my condition at the start of this journey. I was busy with exam preparation and couldn’t manage to attend the 2nd and 3rd sessions.

Now, one can say that “The start of your journey was so lousy”. Well, Yes! I was paying full attention to my exams. It was that because I was going to harvest a ripe crop. Although Amal academy was important for me because I had chosen this path by myself, I had to pay full attention to my studies during those days. So, I turned my exam mode on and started preparing for exams after getting permission from my PM and PA.

Before going to exams I had a chance to take a session; the first session of this amazing journey of three months. In that session, we got a chance to build a connection with our fellows. It boosted my confidence and gave me a chance to interact with my fellows through fun activities.
I was enjoying this but unfortunately, I had to prepare for exams. I dropped an email for my program associate; explaining to her that I would not be able to join the upcoming two sessions because of my exams. She allowed me to not attend the upcoming two sessions.

It was not easy for me to attend a session during exams because I thought it would be a kind of wastage of time. I gave my complete time to my studies. I can still remember that how focused I was on my studies during those days. Unfortunately, I got a headache due to the burden of work. I was continuously taking Panadol to get relief from that hectic condition.

So, as I have mentioned that I was thinking it wastage of time to attend the sessions during those days but, I was wrong. I realized that one can handle many tasks at the same moment. I realized that I had missed two important sessions full of learning opportunities.

After getting done with the exams I started taking sessions. I resumed my enthusiastic journey from the 4th session. I was excited as I was going to resume what I had sorted out for me. Up till now many of my fellows have left the fellowship batch. I might be one of them but fortunately, I decided to stick to what I have chosen for myself. I decided to continue with the fellowship because of the very 1st session. That session actually, boosted my confidence. It encouraged me to speak with strangers. It encouraged me to turn on my video camera in front of a mob of people for the very first time.

The main thing that I have learned during those two weeks was time management. At the same time, many of my fellows were having exams as I was having in those days. But some of them were attending the sessions during their exams as well. At first, I was amazed that how one can attend an optional session during one’s exams. I felt that was only possible due to their time management skills. I realized the importance of time management. I realized time management is very much important in our lives. It helps us to prioritize our work activities and avail the opportunities to learn new things. After realizing this much importance of time management in our daily lives I started to prioritize my work.

Most probably this is my last blog for Amal Academy. I have learned so much from this game-changer and leader-maker institution. Along with my professional growth, I can see behavioral changes in myself. It gave me a chance to serve humanity through different social projects. It gave me a chance to explore the world of conceptualization to generate new ideas for the execution of different processes. It gave me a chance to value myself. It abled me to lead from the front. It abled me to know the importance of teamwork. In short, in a journey of 3 months, I have learned so much that I was not able to learn in 3 years of my university life. Special thanks to my PM and PA whose benevolent nature was a continuous source of learning for me. Thank you Amal Academy for providing me this platform to learn and grow as a professional.
